The Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) announced the results of its 2025 academician, electing 71 new members. Among them is Professor Chen Xin from Guangdong University of Technology (GDUT), recognized for his groundbreaking contributions to precision electronics manufacturing.

Professor Chen, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Precision Electronic Manufacturing Equipment and Technology and head of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area National Technology Innovation Center, has dedicated over three decades to advancing innovation in precision electronics manufacturing. His pioneering work established a theoretical and technical framework for high-speed, high-precision electronic equipment design and manufacturing.
Under his leadership, key breakthroughs were achieved in dynamic optimization of high-speed mechanisms, drive and control of precision motion platforms, and high-quality micro-array fabrication. His efforts have significantly enhanced the global competitiveness of China’s electronics manufacturing sector.
