On July 2, the International Exchange College held its graduation farewell gathering for the Class of 2026 at the meeting room on the 8th floor of the Library on the Dongfeng Road Campus. The event was attended by the college's leadership team, heads of offices, faculty representatives, and international graduates from nine countries. It was presided over by Vice Dean Peng Guocun.

At the gathering, Huang Xincheng, Secretary of the Party General Branch, together with the faculty and students present, revisited the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important reply letter to international students at Peking University "To understand China today, one must understand the Communist Party of China." He encouraged the international students to understand and share a true, multi-dimensional, and evolving China, and to serve as bridges of friendship fostering people-to-people bonds between China and the world.
Dean LIU Yuying extended warm congratulations to the graduates, recalling their memorable years of study in China and urging them to embrace the future with a positive and open mindset. Quoting the classical line "A bosom friend afar brings a distant land near," she expressed her hope that the graduates would act as messengers of communication and bridges of culture—using sincerity to break down prejudice, embracing difference with openness, and telling China's story and the story of Guangdong University of Technology well.
ZHANG Yingyi, speaking on behalf of the faculty, reflected on the students' journey from arriving on campus, navigating linguistic and cultural differences, to growing into confident graduates. She encouraged them to remain bridges of cross-cultural communication, pursue lifelong learning, and always carry a spirit of gratitude.
LEGRAND ALEXY TONY, who is from France and study at International Economics and Trade program, and WONG HANS HARRISON, a Computer Science and Technology major from Indonesia, delivered addresses on behalf of the graduating cohort. They shared peers to overcome academic challenges, thanked the University, teachers and students for their dedicated support, and urged his fellow graduates to stay curious, remain true to their original aspirations, and create value with what they have learned.
