On December 3, the 2024 Ho Leung Ho Lee (HLHL) Foundation Award Ceremony was held at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. Professor Qiu Xueqing, President of GDUT, member of Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE) won the HLHL Science and Technology Progress Award, was one of the fifty-six winners of HLHL Award in 2024.

The Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation (HLHL) is a Chinese non-government organization co-funded by Ho Son Heng, Leung Tin Ju, He Tian and Lee Kwok Wai in 1994,aiming to reward Chinese distinguished scientists and technologists.The foundation has become the most influential non-governmental prize in science and technology in China. It annually bestows prizes upon Chinese scientists in three categories, the Science and Technology Achievement Award, the Science and Technology Progress Award, and the Science and Technology Innovation Award.
