The 2024 Summer Language and Culture Experience Program (LCE) opened on 15th July at Guangdong University of Technology in Guangzhou. 24 international students across 5 countries, including Italy, Russia, Turkey, Sudan and Chile, representatives from International Office and faculties from International Exchange College (IEC) attended the opening ceremony.
Prof. Du Chengming, vice president of Guangdong University of Technology for international, said that LCE is one of the important steps to boost the opening up of higher education, aiming to provide opportunity to Chinese culture lovers to learn and know about China. Campers will truly attach to the tremendous technological achievements in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and immerse in Lingnan customs.

TCFL teacher Li Xiaozhao mentioned that Learning Chinese is not only about mastering a language, but also about opening a door to a profound and ancient civilization, gaining a deeper insight into China.

Italy student Sonia Caravella as representative spoke at the ceremony.She said they all love Chinese language and culture, and they believe that studies and experiences in GBA would help them promote language and offer a completely new perspective to study Chinese language and Chinese societies.

The one-month LEC is a all-dimension platform of exchanging and mutual learning.It will hold a series of language courses and trial courses for youth, in the hopes that it will promote international students' scientific and technological exploration, language learning, and cultural interaction.
