I. Educational objectives
The Civil Engineering Major (International Student Class) is dedicated to cultivating high-quality applied and innovative talents who can meet the demands of global infrastructure construction. Graduates are expected to possess strong professional engineering ethics, cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills, and a global perspective. Leveraging the university's strengths in engineering and the integration of industry and education, the program ensures that graduates acquire a solid foundation in civil engineering theory and cutting-edge technologies. They will become familiar with the construction standards and specifications of China and countries along the "Belt and Road" and develop the comprehensive ability to solve complex civil engineering problems. Graduates will be capable of engaging in civil engineering design, construction, management, and technological development. It is anticipated that within approximately five years of graduation, they will be qualified for key technical or managerial roles in international engineering projects, becoming core technical personnel or management professionals who are well-versed in international practices and capable of contributing to international industrial cooperation.
II. Program Features
Based on a national-level first-class undergraduate program, this major integrates disciplinary strengths with international education services to establish a dual-support system of "discipline + service." Located in Guangdong and leveraging its alumni network in Southeast Asia, the program serves China's opening-up strategy. It adopts a "first-class program + Chinese standards" curriculum model, incorporating international cutting-edge textbooks and specialized courses. Capitalizing on its strategic location in the Greater Bay Area, the program partners with leading enterprises such as China State Construction Engineering Corporation to establish internship bases, thereby creating an educational platform characterized by "Bay Area practice + global perspective." Through cross-institutional and interdisciplinary collaboration, it cultivates specialized talents with both an international outlook and Chinese expertise.
III. Duration of Study and Language Proficiency Requirements
The standard duration of study is 4 years. Applicants must have passed HSK 4 or above.
