Residence Permit Extension Application For New Students with X1 visa
A. General Requirement
International Education Center issues the Admission Letter and Form JW202 to new international students. International students shall apply for X1 (for a study period of more than 180 days) Visa from Chinese Embassy or Consulate in your country by valid passport, the Admission Letter and Form JW202. Usually the Embassy or Consulate requires a valid medical checkup report at the same time.
B. Residence Permit Application
(1) New International Students must enter into China with X1 visa. New students are required to arrive at Guangdong University of Technology as soon as possible, and register at the local police station within 24 hours upon arrival. Since X1 visa expires in 30 days, new students must finish the residence permit application within 30 days.
(2) Medical Checkup
After registration at the university,international students are required to take medical checkup at Guangzhou International Travel Health Care Center.The checkup costs about RMB500.
Documents required:
a. photocopies of passport's first page and valid visa page.
b. two passport-size photos.
(3) Residence Permit
Upon passing the medical checkup, international students should come back to IEC office for Residence Permit Application Reservation, and then visit Guangzhou Immigration Administrationfor Residence Permit application.

a. Original valid passport with photocopies of first page and valid visa page.
b. Two passport-size photos and return receipt.
c. Registration Certificate of Temporary Residence for Visitors and One copy.
d. Medical Checkup Report.
e. Visa Application for Study in China (Form JW202).
f. Admission Letter by GDUT.

X2 visa Application For New Students
Documents required
a. Original valid passport with photocopies of first page and valid visa page.
b. Two passport-size photos and return receipt.
c. Registration Certificate of Temporary Residence for Visitors by the local police station and One copy.
d. For students with L visa, Certificate of No Criminal Record required.
e. International Student Insurance no. or certificate.Click here for international students insurance.
f. Payment Receipt of GDUT.
二、新生办理临时学习X2签证
1、护照原件及复印件，有效签证及复印件
2、照片及照片回执
3、临时住宿登记表及复印件
4、持旅游签证报读的需要提供无犯罪记录
5、国际学生保险
6、学校缴费凭据

g. Attendance rate must be above 80%.Language study students should successfully pass all the courses.
三、在校国际学生办理居留许可延期
1、护照原件及复印件，有效签证及复印件；
2、照片及照片回执
3、临时住宿登记表及复印件
4、国际学生保险
5、学校缴费凭据
6、考勤率80%以上；另语言进修生期末考试每门课程需60分以上。
Transfer Students and Residence Permit Extension
Documents required
a. Original valid passport with photocopies of first page and valid visa page.
b. Two passport-size photos and return receipt.
c. Registration Certificate of Temporary Residence for Visitors and One copy.
d. Transfer Certificate or Study Completion Certificate.
e. Attendance Rate Certificate and Transcript.
f. International Student Insurance no. or certificate.Click here for international students insurance.
g. Payment Receipt of GDUT.
h. Attendance rate must be above 80%.Language study students should successfully pass all the courses.
四、转学学生并办理居留许可延期
1、护照原件及复印件，有效签证及复印件
2、照片及照片回执
3、临时住宿登记表及复印件
4、转学证明或学习结束证明
5、考勤证明及成绩单
6、国际学生保险
7、学校缴费凭据
8、学生考勤率80%以上；另语言进修生期末考试每门课程成绩需60分以上。
