Super typhoon Saola is forecast to make landfall between Guangdong's Shenzhen city and Taishan city on Saturday morning, according to Guangdong Meteorological Observatory.

It is also possible that the typhoon will pass by the above-mentioned coastal areas, the forecast also said.

As of 17:20 today (September 1), a total of 25 red alerts for typhoon have been issued in Guangdong. Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Shantou and Huizhou have announced the suspension of schools, work, production, transportation and business.

On September 2, there will be rainstorms in the Pearl River Delta and Yangjiang. The rest of the province will see moderate rain or torrential rain. The areas where the typhoon center passes will experience a wind force of grade-16.

On September 3, West Guangdong and western Pearl River Delta will see heavy rain and localized torrential rain. The remaining areas will experience showers and localized heavy rain.
