In order to meet the global demand for Chinese language learning and cultural exploration among enthusiasts, International Exchange College, adhering to the philosophy of "Bridging Cultures through Language, Connecting Worlds with Heritage," has designed the 2025 Summer Immersive Chinese Language and Culture Program (Language and Culture Experience, LCE). This program equips learners with practical modern Chinese language skills while immersing them in the historical depth and contemporary innovations of Chinese culture, fostering a comprehensive and authentic understanding of China.
I. Program Highlights
Rooted in the context of cross-cultural communication in the new era, the program establishes a ‘Trinity’ educational framework: i.Systematic Chinese Language Courses. ii.Immersive Cultural Practice Workshops. iii.Localized Social Observation Projects.
This integrated platform creates a tangible, participatory, and shareable environment for cultural and linguistic acquisition, cultivating participants' Chinese communication proficiency and cultural decoding competence.
II. Program Details
i. Study Period: From 1 July 2025 (Tuesday) to 25 July 2025 (Friday),4 weeks in total.
ii. Fees
All fees are in Chinese Yuan RMB. For payments in foreign currencies, the exchange rate published by the Bank of China on the payment date will apply.
1. Application Fee: RMB 400 (non-refundable)
2. Program Tuition: RMB 3,000/person
Notes: Tuition fees includes language course fees; excludes textbook costs, off-campus cultural activity expenses and insurance. Off-campus activities are optional and self-funded. Participants must purchase insurance independently.

3. On-Campus Accommodation
Single Room: RMB 1,800/4 weeks
Double Room: RMB 1,100/4 weeks
Notes: Fees excludes campus Wi-Fi, bedding, water, electricity, etc.
On-campus housing is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If on-campus rooms are full, participants must arrange off-campus housing independently.
Off-campus residents must complete a registration procedure and register at the local police station within 24 hours of arrival, in compliance with Chinese laws.
Participants are prohibited from engaging in employment, business, or commercial activities during the program.
iii. Class Arrangements
Minimum class size: 15 students. Classes with fewer participants will be canceled. Group applications are encouraged.

III. Sign-up Procedures
i. Application Deadline: 10 June 2025 (Tuesday).Registration Day: 30 June 2025 (Monday)
ii. Requirements
1. Non-Chinese citizens aged 18-60 (inclusive) with a valid foreign passport.
2. Healthy and well-behaved, and be friendly to China,without any criminal records.
3. Abide by the laws and decrees of the Chinese government and related rules of university, honor the Chinese social morality and customs, and will not participate in any activities in China which are inappropriate to the capacity as a student.
ⅲ. Online Application (Submit scanned copies online)
1. Visit https://iec.gdut.edu.cn/, click the "Online Application" and then proceed with the application, or visit https://apply.gdut.edu.cn/ and continue with a guideline. After registration, please complete the "GDUT Application Form for International Students" (for Language Study) correctly and completely within the application period, and upload the supporting documents and pay the application fee as required.
2. Photocopy of valid passport information page.
3. If necessary, university will require applicants to submit supplementary documents.
ⅳ. Visa and Insurance
1. Visa: Admitted applicants must bring the valid passport, Admission Letter, Visa Application Form to the local Chinese Embassy/Consulate or other official missions authorized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China to apply for a student visa (X1/X2 visa).The Visa Application Form for foreign students has been digitally certified. Students who study for 180 days or longer shall be certified with JW202 FORM;Students who study less than 180 days shall be certified with the new DQ FORM.
Please be assured that the validity of your passport can cover the study period when submitting the online application. The passport shall not be renewed and the passport number shall not be changed until your registration on campus in GDUT. Otherwise your JW202/DQ FORM will be invalid.
2. Insurance: International students must purchase insurance according to relevant national regulations and school requirements. Students must purchase insurance in China before the program starts or within the specified period.

IV. Remarks
i. Application fees and materials are non-returnable.Program schedule is subject to actual execution plans.
ii. In case of any inconsistency, the Chinese version shall prevail. International Exchange College reserves the right of final interpretation.
