International Students Shine at 2026 “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition South China Preliminaries: Storytelling Contest

On April 19, the South China preliminary Contest for the 2026 “Chinese Bridge” Global Foreigners Chinese Proficiency Competition–Storytelling Session kicked off in Guangzhou. Hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) under the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, the event drew 188 contestants from 52 countries and regions. 17 students from the International Exchange College of GDUT, hailing from 14 countries, gathered with fellow participants at the contest, using the Chinese language as a bridge to forge profound cultural bonds.

Highlight: GDUT Contestants

During the contest, the international students from our university displayed calmness and confidence, telling China's stories, their cultural insights and experiences in China in standard and fluent Chinese. They fully demonstrated their solid Chinese language foundation, good spiritual outlook and profound understanding of Chinese culture, vividly interpreting their deep feelings of understanding and befriending China.
