IECers Won Prize in the The Sixth Chinese Classics Recitation, Writing and Speech Contest

The Sixth Chinese Classics Recitation, Writing and Speech Contest, organized by the Ministry of Education and the State Language Commission, recently came to an end. IEC faculty and students have emerged in the national finals and were granted 4 national awards,including 1 national third prize and 3 excellence prizes.

MOAMEL MUAYAD MUWAFAQ ALANBAGI, an Iraqi undergraduate from IEC, won the third prize of international student group of poetry interpretation. LAKHLIFI HAFSA who is from Morocco has accessed Excellence Award in the seal cutting competition with her calligraphy named ‘形神集’. MOAMEL MUAYAD MUWAFAQ ALANBAGI(IRAQ),EKATERINA GLIBKA(RUSSIA),HANS HARRISON WONG(INDONESIA),ERADAH BELAL OMAR AL-MUAALEMI(YEMEN) and AYA SADAT(SYRIA) received The Excellence Award of international student group of poetry interpretation. Long Yinger, an International Chinese teacher at IEC, won The Excellence Award for her poetry interpretation of '鹊仙桥'.

Through this contest, international students not only improved their Chinese language proficiency,but also gained a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese culture and promoted Chinese and foreign cultural exchanges.
