GDUT Professor and President Qiu Xueqing was elected into the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE) in the Academy's 2023 Annual General Meeting on 5 June 2023. This year,forty-six new Fellows, eight new International Fellows and one Honorary Fellow into the CAE.
Qiu Xueqing serves as a Professor and President at Guangdong University of Technology.He is a world-lading expert in biomass utilization and green chemical engineering His original contributions to molecular structure modulation has enabled the transformation of lignin from massive pulping and biorefinery waste into green fine chemical products and functional materials, generating considerable economic benefits while significantly strengthening sustainability. He has 400+journal papers and holds 150+patents.Through 15- year presidency in two major Chinese engineering universities he has implemented innovative competency-based engineering training programs to enhance engineering education. He also promoted international cooperation with worldwide universities including 10+Canadian universities to cultivate the next generation of great young engineers.
