Temporary inbound policies into GD for CNY start 6th Feb

The 72nd press conference on Guangdong's fight against COVID-19 was held in Guangzhou on February 3rd.

Fu Yongge, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, announced the newly updated entry policy during the Spring Festival at the conference.

Transfer of inbound arrivals to be adjusted between February 8th and 17th

Between February 8th and 17th, all inbound arrivals entering via Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport will receive medical observation in Guangzhou. The previous transfers to Foshan, Qingyuan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing will be suspended.

Those entering via the Shenzhen Bay Port and need to be quarantined will stay in Shenzhen for medical observation. The previous transfer to Dongguan, Huizhou, Shanwei, and Zhongshan will be suspended. In addition, transfer to 10 cities across eastern, western, and northern Guangdong will also be suspended.

Starting from midnight on the night of February 5/6th, inbound arrivals entering via Guangdong’s entry points who need medical observation, in principle, will no longer be able to accept home quarantine across cities.

As of February 18th, the previous transfer arrangement will be resumed.

Entry via the airport:Guangdong highlights closed-loop management from "plane" to "quarantine hotel". Inbound passengers shall provide negative nucleic acid test within the previous two days before boarding. Passengers from some countries shall also provide negative IgM antibody test and apply for a green health code from the embassy or consulate.

Entry from Hong Kong:All entries require negative nucleic acid testing results within the preceding 24 hours.

Entry from Macao:Current epidemic prevention and control policies in Guangdong and Macao go along with each other. The Chinese mainland and Macao have basically resumed their customs clearance policies as that before the epidemic except that all entries need to provide a valid negative nucleic acid test within the preceding 7 days.

Investigation into coronavirus-contaminated milk jujubes basically completed

According the notice from Shandong province, some of involved milk jujubes have flowed into 19 cities across Guangdong through express delivery. Nucleic acid test results of relevant personnel and environment have all been negative, with a small number of products positive.

“Related products with positive samples have been sealed and dealt with by harmless disposal. The risk of persons infected with the coronavirus caused by the milk jujubes is extremely low,” said Huang Shaolong, Deputy Director-General of the Guangdong Administration for Market Regulation.

Guangzhou & Shenzhen Metro to extend operation time by 1 hour during the Spring Festival holiday

The service hours of 12 urban bus lines in Shenzhen will last until after midnight.

Guangdong will strengthen the designated management of traffic nodes related to cross-border truck drivers, especially the expressway service area, so as to ensure closed-loop operations of cross-border drivers after the individuals enter Guangdong.

Guangdong has 1.89 million people vaccinated against coronavirus

Guangdong is advancing the COVID-19 vaccination for key populations. As of February 2nd, a total of 1.89 million people have been vaccinated across the province, according to Duan Yufei, Director General of the Health Commission of Guangdong Province.

Moreover, registration fees will no longer be charged for nucleic acid test in the province. At present, there are 677 medical institutions providing nucleic acid test in Guangdong, with 63,200 people in charge of sampling and 9,230 testing personnel. The maximum daily capacity has reached 1.5 million tests.

The province has a COVID-19 test reserve force consisting of a 2,200-member sampling team and a 510-member testing team. The reserve force can be assembled and set off within one hour to fill up any shortfall in testing capacity in epidemic-stricken area.
